How Dollpick builds guides: where the data comes from, what confidence labels mean, and the lines we don’t cross.
Data, not vibes
Every product figure on Dollpick comes from the same versioned catalog snapshot that powers Dolllist - checked prices with dates, stock states, store-tag weight bands marked approximate. Guides reference products by ID and read specs from the snapshot at build time, so a number can never go stale inside an article.
Criteria before picks
Each guide publishes its inclusion criteria before its picks. If the data cannot support a recommendation, the recommendation is not made - we would rather publish a shorter list than pad one.
What we don’t claim
No independent durability tests, no user-review scores, no vendor best-seller tags as quality signals, no invented ratings. Product modules are not Reviews and carry no rating markup.
Adults only
Dollpick addresses adults (18+). Age-ambiguous, school-themed or character-IP framing never enters guides; products whose imagery trips those checks are held out of the catalog entirely.
